Greek Refineries No. 1 & 2

For a period of four years we have carried out risk reviews for International insurers of the largest conversion refinery in Greece. A detailed asset evaluation was carried out in 1996. This document involved an item listing of each plant, costing down to US$ 1,000,000 and was produced in two 500 page volumes. Following the acquisition of a second refinery in Thessaloniki in 1999, this exercise was repeated for the two properties and the marketing companies downstream.

Valuation and risk engineering study of a large ethylene, polyethylene and polypropylene plant. The project included a full earthquake study in conjunction with a leading specialist from London to evaluate potential exposure to the operation.

New Zealand Offshore Project

Production Platforms and Terminal - a production facility which supplies all of New Zealand's gas and LPG from natural resources. Suregrove were requested to undertake a review of specific aspects of this development for underwriters. The study included both offshore and onshore plants.

Netherlands Oil Refinery Project

Valuation of a large refinery project, which will be sold and transferred to a new site. This involved a three month exercise 2000-2001, to estimate the value for sale, re-installation, and re-commissioning in a new location. Condition survey, valuation at various stages of removal and relocation.

Nigerian Oil Refinery & Petrochemicals

Engineering surveys on three refineries and one ethylene complex in Nigeria and valuation of property in 2002 and 2003 (Port Harcourt, Kaduna, Warri). Work also on 30 oil storage and distribution terminals, gas distribution, oil fields and other sister companies. Ongoing 2004.

N. Ireland Oil Storage & Distribution Co.

Suregrove have carried out a condition survey of a fuel oil terminal for a major power station. This terminal is to be converted to kerosene service and a scope of work was required plus cost estimate.

Oil and Gas Production

A risk study was carried out at two large developments in Russia (Saratov and Izhevsk) for the production of oil and gas. Ten major locations were visited for the Sidanco Company. This study involved inspection of plant with recommendations for future risk improvement. A valuation was carried out in 1997.
